Survey IDI: IT Professionals Development @iktnorge @Abelia_NHO @ntnu

Link to Survey

As you know IDI’s major goal is to educate highly competent graduates at a bachelor and master level for IT businesses. To do so, IDI wants to always improve the communication channel with IT businesses and assess your needs.

Towards this direction we have designed a survey to investigate the skills IDI graduates must have to be successful in the industry. Specifically, we aim to understand the extent to which IDI’s graduates are equipped with the skills needed in each particular industry.

In order to be able to proceed with this investigation we would like to ask for your valuable contribution. You are kindly requested to fill this survey as well as to forward it to your employees who have any direct or indirect collaboration with IDI graduates.

The estimated completion time of the survey is 15 minutes; you contribution is appreciated.

I enclose here the Norwegian text that encourages professors to participate to ceremonies. I do not translate it since most professors are more clever than me in Norwegian 🙂

Reidar logs off

Dear Reidar human life is a mystery and what makes human beings more interesting than software, scientific papers, and artworks is that we are mysterious individual that play different roles and engage in different relations. Only those who die young can be forever young.

I have had a long relation to you and I have played several roles from being an exchange student who knew nothing about research and software engineering and learned everything from you and the students around you to becoming your last boss

As your last boss I want to thank you for all the resources you have brought to IDI and to the Norwegian and International Computer Science community. I do not say more about this as the whole day is about this.

As your last boss I have had one goal. To support you toward a valuable and honorable conclusion of your career.

It is not up to me to judge if I have been a good boss. I have always thought a lot – sometimes even too much about you – about how to respect you, love you and be thankful.

Enjoy your day.

I want to congratulate you, to invite you to use your life, your title master of Science and your dreams to do what you like to do and what is right for you and those around you. I want also to reflect about IT and life and I hope to convince you (if you are not already convinced)  that we human beings become more and more important as the role of IT expands.

IT is somehow magic, even for those like us who understands and creates the internal of IT.

When I was a little girl I started to read quite early and I have always liked to read. One of my first book is Pinocchio. Pinocchio has been written in 1883 by Carlo Collodi who used to live in the same town as my mother and grandmother, a town called Pescia somewhere in the middle of Tuscany between Pisa and Firenze. So the sentences from the book were not only words in the book but words and sentences that were repeated several times during the day to entertain us or to give us advice or to criticize us.

“Now your nose is long” could my grandmother say if I was lying about something. Pinocchio was very lucky as he had been given the possibility to live almost as an human being. The blue fairy, “la fata” had informed Pinocchio that he can become a real boy if he proves himself to be “brave, truthful, and unselfish”

Pinocchio had been given the possibility to go to school. However, Pinocchio did a lot of mistakes, like selling his book to buy the entrance to an entertainment park. As a consequences of his mistakes Pinocchio must experience a lot of challenges

The puppet is brought to life by the blue fairy, who confirms that he that he can become a real boy if he proves himself to be “brave, truthful, and unselfish”

His mistakes made Pinocchio in a real human beings.

Alda Merini (1931 – 2009), poetessa e scrittrice italiana.

Ma anche io come Pinocchio vendo il mio abbecedario per un bacio d’amore.

But I also like Pinocchio sell my “book” for a kiss of love .

reflections

I was inspired and impressed by the meeting with Nils, Per, and not least Anniken whom I met for the first time but I had the impression we had been colleagues for ages. #women-in-computing

IDI employees are very wise and they give good advice for this merge process.

A classic Letizia’s reflection, we will do a lot of mistakes and we will say something that is not perfect since we are not educated as diplomatic. I hope we will forgive each other mistakes and we will make something new together.
