I have read two books. The first (the beauty) is A Strangeness in My Mind by Orhan Pamuk – I read the 574 pages in Italian. It is the kind of novel I love. You learn a lot of history and culture. At the same time, it is a love novel and a family saga. I am fascinated by the similarities between this novel and Ferrante’s Neapolitan Novels. I love this one even more than Neapolitan Novels as Pamuk in my opinion guides the reader more towards beauty and love and you feel like you have lived in Instabul.
The second one (the beast) is Anne B. Ragde: «Alltid tilgivelse». I could not finish it and I am disappointed. What I dislike more are these descriptions of stink, long nails and may be even worst the bad taste of the Danish couple. It is a pity because I have liked several books by Ragde. If you know books which are similar to Pamuk’s one and preferably from other countries, please suggest them to me. Have a nice Christmas time everybody.
